Dec. 5, 2014 (SPRINGFIELD, Ill.) H. D. Smith, the largest independent wholesaler in the U.S., announced a new vice president today. Tracey Hernandez joined H. D. Smith as vice president corporate regulatory compliance. In this role, Hernandez will be responsible for corporate security, regulatory compliance and anti-diversion programs, and for providing support to supply chain management by working with confidential corporate information.

Hernandez has many years of experience in the pharmaceutical and regulatory industries. Prior to H. D. Smith, she most recently worked for Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama, as their director, DEA compliance. At Qualitest, she was responsible for all aspects of DEA compliance for the organization’s Huntsville, Alabama and Charlotte, North Carolina sites.  Prior to her role with Qualitest, Hernandez has also worked in the compliance field for Watson Laboratories, Inc., Reckitt Benckiser and Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

Hernandez earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Muhlenberg College, and a master’s in pharmacy policy and regulation from the University of Florida. In addition, she is certified in Corporate Healthcare Compliance from Seton Hall and is an ASQ-certified quality auditor.
