H. D. Smith, the largest independent wholesaler in the U.S., today announced that Henry Dale Smith Sr., the company’s founder and chairman emeritus, passed away at age 87 in Springfield, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Mike Anderson has recently been promoted to vice president of credit for H. D. Smith. Building on his responsibilities as credit director, Anderson will be accountable for underwriting and managing H. D. Smith’s and Smith Medical Partner’s accounts receivable and notes receivable portfolios.
His priorities center on defining direction, reducing risk, and developing policy, procedures and strategy. Anderson joined H. D. Smith in 2007 as credit manager of the Florida Division.
