H. D. Smith Hires Marco Polizzi to Head Sales and Marketing
Polizzi brings 18 years of sales and marketing expertise from PBM, brand and generic pharmaceutical sectors

With pharmaceutical costs rising, pharmacy customers look toward healthcare distributors to provide stronger service value, insight and support programs. As senior vice president, sales and marketing, Polizzi will lead H. D. Smith efforts to deliver new customer-support initiatives in retail-pharmacy, regional-chain and health-system sectors. These programs will help H. D. Smith expand opportunities within these segments.
Polizzi’s sales and marketing experience includes successful launch of more than 20 products in many leading therapeutic categories. Prior to joining H. D. Smith, Polizzi served as vice president of sales, signature accounts for Express Scripts, one of the world’s largest PBMs. Previously, Polizzi served at Covidien in a number of senior roles, including vice president of sales and marketing for the company’s brand business unit where he directed the acquisition of multiple million-dollar brand products, business director for the addiction-treatment business and senior business manager for the generics business. His efforts at Covidien drove double-digit sales growth.
